Street Performers

Hey Everyone,

Here is the project I did for Leticia Gillett's Character Design class. In this class, we had to create a character and a story. I have learned so much about character design and storytelling.

Long story short. The story behind it. It is a memory from pandemic time. I lived in NYC when the pandemic hit. The city was scary empty, and with a lot of uncertainty, people were grumpier than usual. It was a gloomy and rainy day. I was soaking wet heading home by train. At the last stop before the train went out under the ground, a couple of men got on the train with a speaker. They started singing " I'll Be Around - from The Spinners". They were so happy singing that song and giving fist bumps to everybody. Suddenly, everyone on the train started singing along. When the train went out of the ground, on the Williamsburg Bridge, the sun was bright. It gave a sort of whimsical moment. I am sure those men made a day of people better, mine included.
I hope you like it :)
